How I Work

I strongly believe that mindfulness is an essential foundation for living an authentic, healthy, fulfilling life. Without training the mind, which is becoming aware of the mind and cultivating the ability to concentrate and focus the mind, we inevitably are at its mercy. Unfocused, the mind is like a drunken monkey reactively going from one thought to the next with very little basis in truth and reality. If we live at the mercy of the mind, there is little room for joy and peace in our lives. With the mind in charge and untrained, it tends to be on a never-ending search for “problems,” keeping us in state of dis-ease and discomfort. Without awareness, we tend to believe the stories and thoughts the mind tells us. Not usually a set-up for a peaceful life.

However, because we can learn and practice the skills to train the mind, we can cultivate the spaciousness and stillness that allows our natural state of being to become part of our daily lives. This natural state of being is peace, harmony and acceptance and is available to everyone who pursues it. There are many different tools and methods to cultivate this inner-knowing and I enjoy finding the tools that work for each individual.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a practitioner of Mindfulness Meditation for several years. My desire is to share these basic fundamental tools with all those who wish to learn this simple, yet profound practice. I find this practice is often a doorway into the rich, vital experience of awakening to our own unique gifts. I consider it an honor to participate with you on this inner journey of healing and wholeness.
